About Us

Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production LLC (OOCEP) is an upstream oil & gas company based in the Sultanate of Oman. OOCEP is a subsidiary of Oman Oil Company S.A.O.C (OOC) with a primary focus on upstream investments as part of OOC’s strategy of pursuing local and international energy related investments.

OOCEP’s activities combine the management of investments in non-operated upstream assets in Oman and abroad, as well as operatorship of upstream and service/midstream businesses in Oman. The aim of such investments is to draw upon Oman’s experience in the oil & gas industry to achieve strong operational results and financial returns, pursue opportunities that will contribute to meeting the future energy needs of the Sultanate, and provide a platform for the professional development of the Omani workforce.

1994: Entering into the Dunga PSA in Kazakhstan.

1996: Oman Oil Company S.A.O.C. (OOC) was established.
2005: Signing the EPSA for Caspian Offshore (Kazakhstan).
2005: Signing the PSA for the Mukhaizna Field in Oman.
2009: OOC spins off its E&P business into a dedicated company – the birth of OOCEP.
2010: OOCEP acquires the EPSA of Block 60 to develop tight gas.
2010: OOCEP Awards Korea’s Hyundai Engineering (HEC) Contract for Musandam Gas Processing Plant (MGP).
2011: Laying the foundation stone for Musandam Gas Processing Plant (MGP) ceremony.
2012: OOCEP acquires the EPSA of Block 42- Ramlat Al Sharqiya.
2013: Commencement of site construction for the ABB and MGP projects.
2014: The start of commercial production at Abu Tabul field (Block 60).
